Andy
Artists Joshua Bisset, Laura Quattrocchi and Tzveta Kassabova founded Andy in 2017 and worked together on project design, fundraising, construction, and community outreach.
Andy is a developing creative space and community hub in North West Detroit located in a 20,000 square foot brick and steel building with remarkable open spans. We host music, theatre and dance performances and visual arts exhibits, support the creative process, and seek to provide space for community focused events and healthy food.
As a co-founder, Tzveta played a critical role in envisioning the Andy project and in planning its physical build out. Between 2016 and 2019 Tzveta committed several hundred hours of work toward the project. Her contributions included project and building design, repairs and construction, outdoor cleanup, facilitation of artistic events, and professional networking. Tzveta played a key role in writing and obtained grants, tirelessly promoting Andy Arts in the academic community, conceiving and curating programs. She co-created and performed in featured programs including What We've Been doing and Fantastical Things To Come, Untitled, Friends of Andy Showcase, and was responsible for Andy Arts obtaining its Marley dance floor. Tzveta's energy and creativity
Her co-founders, are forever grateful for the critical creativity and energy Tzveta brought to the founding and early development of Andy.
